Industrial Walkway W2
A manufacturing-ready industrial walkway system developed from as-built site requirements for a client access route. The assembly combines modular landing platforms, long walkway runs, stair access, handrail guarding, toe boards, rubber foot pads, adjustable stud supports, and PFC support beds into a coordinated fabrication package.

The W2 walkway package was produced to convert site access requirements into a controlled SolidWorks assembly and fabrication drawing set. The model resolves the platform width, landing positions, stair access, handrail continuity, grating layout, support feet, toe boards, and bolted details before release to manufacture.

Engineering Challenge
The main engineering challenge was coordinating a long access route around fixed site conditions while keeping the system practical for fabrication, galvanising, delivery, and installation. The design needed repeatable support details, clear grating breakdowns, safe handrail transitions, and shop-floor drawings that reduce interpretation errors.
Design Solution
The final solution uses an 850mm-wide modular steel walkway with separate landing sections, PFC support beds, 33.2mm handrail assemblies, rubber isolation feet, M20 stud adjustment, toe boards, channel-nut fixings, and detailed part drawings. The public-facing deliverable package uses redacted fabrication PDFs, a BOM-ready assembly summary, and a GLB model for website inspection.
