Rotary Indexing Table Mechanism
A personal machine-design case study focused on the architecture of a manually operated rotary indexing table. The model combines the workholding table, radial slot pattern, central spindle arrangement, handwheel input, collar, base, and housing into an assembly suitable for visual design review.

Project Overview
The exercise develops assembly relationships between the rotating table, support body, spindle, and user controls. It demonstrates parametric layout, repeated workholding geometry, interface management, and compact mechanism packaging without publishing unsupported accuracy or load claims.
Project Category
Manual rotary indexing mechanism
Design Focus
Concentric interfaces, patterned features, mechanism layout, and workholding access
Main Components
Rotary table, radial slots, spindle, housing, base, handwheel, graduated collar
Engineering Context
Personal machine-design study; no public precision or load certification claim
Software Context
Multi-CAD experience across SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo, CATIA, and Fusion 360; public GLB exported from SolidWorks
Web Output
High-resolution render and Draco-compressed GLB
Status
Personal public portfolio case study
Engineering Challenge
The rotating and stationary parts required clear separation, concentric relationships, usable handwheel placement, and a repeatable radial slot pattern while keeping the assembly compact and visually understandable.
Design Solution
A constrained mechanism was developed around a central rotary axis, enclosed support body, external handwheel, and patterned workholding table. The geometry was reviewed within a multi-CAD workflow, and the public assembly was exported from SolidWorks as a lightweight Draco-compressed GLB.
Key Features
- Circular workholding table with repeated radial slot geometry
- Central spindle and stationary housing relationships
- Manual handwheel input and graduated collar representation
- Parametric patterns and concentric assembly constraints
- Compact machine-component packaging study
- Draco-compressed browser model for interactive inspection
Project Deliverables
- Rotary table mechanism assembly
- High-resolution public product render
- Draco-compressed GLB review model
- Public-safe engineering case-study summary
